Reframe Your Day: Transforming Uninspired Mornings into Motivated Moments.

A lot of time I wake up with the feeling of no excitement, and no desire to make the best out of the day. I would rather in that state choose to sleep, eat and do nothing to move myself towards my future self.

This is not due to the lack of sense of purpose or some sort of laziness. It could be because of those reasons sometimes but not every time. The key reason I found behind this is in reframing the day.

If you reframe your day properly then you will have no difficulty in bringing yourself in the right state of mind.

What does this reframing of the day mean;

It means to let go of the unessential things that happened throughout your day and your life which is not taking you forward into the greater future.

You choose to see the past from a different perspective and decide to reframe it in a way that can help you in the future.

It’s about focusing on your wins and the lessons you learnt from mistakes rather than obsessing over some dead problem of the past.

There are actually three steps that you need to take to reframe your day and life:

  1. Relax and bring yourself to an alpha state from a beta state by doing things that relax you. You can take a hot bath, meditate or you can do anything which puts you in a very relaxed state.
  2. Journal it. Write about the things which are stressing you out from a different perspective. Focus on your wins. Focus on what you’re grateful for on that particular day.

Some questions to ask to properly reframe your day.

  • What are my 3 Wins of the day?
  • What are the 3 things I am grateful for today?
  • What are the top 3 lessons I learned today?
  • If I had the chance to live this day again, what would I change and what would I do the same?

3. Set Intentions for the next day. Ask yourself,

  • What excites me for tomorrow.
  • Why do I want to have one more day in my life?

The whole purpose of reframing is to put yourself in the right state of mind.

“The state in which you sleep, you will wake up in that same state.”

So you need to make sure that you sleep in a state of excitement and dreaming rather than taking tiredness and stress with you.

Once you have done this you have successfully reframed your day.

You can do the same for your life too.

How I reframe my day.

I have certain rituals to perform not for someone else but only for myself. I call this my ‘night ritual.’

  • Don’t use phone atleast 2-3 hours before sleep.
  • I take hot bath to bring myself in alpha state.

After following my night rituals I am in a good stance to really reframe my day.
